A good place to start is by downloading GrADS and running their tutorial. GrADS is made for linux but there is a version called OpenGrADS for windows. Here’s a download link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/opengrads/files/latest/download

Then, you can follow this tutorial. http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/gadoc/tutorial.html

A couple notes about that tutorial – some of the variable names are wrong… I forget which ones though. I can run through it again and send an email telling them to fix the variable names on the tutorial! It should still give you a good feel for it though.
