  • Saturday started out cold (Min of 13.7° was my coldest min since Jan 7 when I had a min of 5.9°) that took a while to warm up as expected, barely getting over the freezing mark in the afternoon. I was out r […]

    • Nice post Jeremy! It certainly has been very hot in the Pacific Northwest over the past several summers – I hope we don’t have as bad of a fire season as we had in 2014, 2015, and especially 2017, when the Eagle Creek fire roared through the Columbia River Gorge and brought falling ash to Portland!

January was quite mild, in fact, one of the warmest on record. We had no Minimum Temperatures that even reached freezing this month as the low was only 35.5°. Though 16 days did manage to fall to […]

    • Thanks for posting your January stats. Amazing that you didn’t hit freezing the entire month!! In Jan 2017 I recall that you not only had several freezing (or below) mins but even a few maxs of 32 or less! Got to compare your report with Roger Cunningham’s – As I recall he usually is warmer and wetter, at least during the winter months. Sure would be great to get Roger on here – I will try and email him to see if he could check the blog out and would have any interest.

  • It’s no surprise that the groundhog saw his shadow today, but regardless, it’s a beautiful morning. I just wish it was warmer.  We are under the influence of another Polar Vortex and they are getting tiresome […]

  • Will our weather ever stabilize?  This swinging back and forth is getting annoying.  Yesterday’s warmup got rid of about half the snow cover.  Now, today, temps will be dropping all day and the frigid we […]
