It was founded by Jordan Rabinowitz, a Ph.D candidate in tropical meteorology at the University of Missouri, and consists of dozens of degreed meteorologists and students hailing from multiple continents, including professional operational scientists and university professors. The Weather Junkies is a weekly podcast run by Tyler Jankoski, a broadcast meteorologist for WPTZ in Burlington, Vermont, and Dakota Smith, a graduate student at Colorado State University studying the carbon cycle.
