I had the privilege of travelling to Pacific City on the Oregon Coast this weekend with my brother. Pacific City is right next to Cape Kiwanda, which along with Cape Meares and Cape Lookout, is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route along the Oregon Coast. Cape Kiwanda has beautiful sandstone cliffs and giant sand dunes, and the very tip of the cape features spectacular waves as swells are funneled into a narrow notch that dramatically amplifies wave heights. Even though swells were only around 7 feet that day, we witnessed spray 100-200 feet high as waves stacked up in this notch and crashed against the sandstone cliffs.

It was an absolutely incredible experience hiking around the Cape, I hope I am able to return soon!
