  • We just couldn’t ask for nicer weather than what we are having.  There is rain in the forecast over the next several days but we actually could use it.  We should see temps in the 80s this afternoon and that s […]

  • We have another heat wave on the way for the next several days and I’m loving it.  Yesterday was quite nice with comfortable temperatures and sun most of the day.  I love this type of weather in October which is m […]

  • I shouldn’t be surprised with this weather since it is closer to normal than what we had a week ago.  I’ve noticed that the colors haven’t changed much since we left 10 days ago.   I guess that the 90 degree we […]

  • Last night was very chilly with frost advisories and lows falling below freezing in some spots.  We did have some spotty showers yesterday afternoon but skies cleared later in the day.  We are heading back home t […]

  • We finally received some rain overnight, but since I have no rain gauge here, I’m not sure how much.  The closest CoCoRahs station that I could find was Mackinaw City, and they reported 0.16 inches.  Other s […]

  • Today is starting out with very cool temps and plenty of sun.  We had to run the furnace last night as it got down into the 40s.  We should see a rebound to the mid 60s by this afternoon, but rain is also a p […]

  • We will finally have some comfortable weather today and an end to the abnormal heat wave.  It will seem good to  me.  We took a drive to Petoskey yesterday to see my brother-in-law in the hospital there, then we […]

  • Today should be the last for this heat wave and I’m thankful for it.  Other than Sunday, when we were out on the lake all afternoon, it’s been a struggle for me.  I don’t tolerate heat well, especially for long p […]

  • Yesterday, we spent the afternoon on my in-law’s pontoon boat  on Mullet lake in Cheboygan.  It was wonderful.  The temperature was near 90°, but it was very comfortable out on the lake.  With it so late in the […]

  • Yesterday was another hot one with highs reaching the 90s once again.  This weather is unbelievable.  I guess I shouldn’t complain as it could be cold and rainy.   This is the final weekend for this campground and […]

  • Yesterday was stifling with temps in the low 90s and very humid conditions.  This is just unreal for late September in Michigan, but especially in northern Michigan.  Normally highs are only in the 60s this time o […]

  • I’m doing my blog here this morning since I am unable to access Weather Together.  Our weather is quite eventful, not only the heat but the strange thunderstorms that formed at home yesterday.  A fairly large b […]

  • It seems that August and September have switched this year.  We had below normal temps most of August and now that September is here, we continue to have temperatures that are much above normal.  I can’t e […]

  • Radar is showing some rain headed our way, and we could certainly use it.  With the unseasonable heat that we have had, everything is drying out and lawns are brown.  I think we are making up for our cool A […]

    • Hi Cathie! Just read your bio, thanks for posting, I enjoyed reading it. Believe me, this blogging here is a lot of fun, and always a challenge, I am always learning something new. Right now, I was just trying to send you a general message, and this method here seems to be the only way I am seeing right now. I have tried Live Chat but it always tells me I must be a registered member, but I have been a registered member for a while now and if I say so, one of the more prolific bloggers here. I always enjoy feedback, but as is usually the case I don’t get much feedback except from Charlie. I need to work on getting more old weatherquackers on here, some may not know about it yet – Nathan said he messaged Josh sometime ago, but he still hasn’t shown up here at all yet. I miss his posts. I hope you will see this reply, and can reply back sometime. I have to check the bloggers map and see if you made it on there yet. As a lifelong professional cartographer I always enjoy and appreciate the depiction of data or information on a good map. Jeff Taylor is also a cartographer, we have a lot of similar interests and have known each other for over 20 years. Take care, Kevin

  • We had a dry thundershower last night, something quite rare for our area.  We had a moderate but brief shower earlier which left us with 0.02 inches in my gauge.  Today is much cooler with highs struggling to r […]

  • I’m afraid that we’ll be getting that next week on our last camping trip for the year. Please keep it there until Oct. 1.

  • It seems strange to be using the AC this late in the season, but highs are reaching the low to  mid 80s.  There are thunderstorms in our forecast for later today and I hope that we do get some rain.  It’s been a […]
